The top 8 Essential Oils for camping
Do you love camping? I do! I love going to new places and explore. The adventure and ability to go where you want to when you want to gives me an exhilarating feeling of freedom. However, I never go camping without my oils. I need them with me at all times. Here are the top 8 oils you definitely need to have with you when you go camping.
When you go camping, you never eat the way you eat at home. This can result in a serious case of upset stomach and intestines that make the sound as if a thunderstorm is rolling in. You know what I am talking about, right? Digest Zen is an oil that I simply rub over my stomach to settle it down. It usually works in minutes. To be sure, I also bring my digest zen soft gels so I can simply put one soft gel in a small pocket when I go hiking.
This oil is good for SO many things! First and foremost altitude head tension. Whenever I hit altitude, my heads starts pounding and a drop of Peppermint essential oil on the base of my skull will fix that. For regular head tension, I bring the Peppermint touch, which is pre-diluted and ready to be applied to the skin. I roll it over my forehead, on my temples and the base of my skull. Who needs throbbing head pain when on vacation, right? Peppermint is also great to keep my airways open. I will roll some Peppermint touch behind my ears and over my throat/chest area. It enables me to breathe freely. Big bonus: ants hate Peppermint!
Tea tree oil! An absolute must-have for every camper as you use it on cuts, scrapes and skin irritations. It’s also a great oil for when you go hiking and get skin irritations on your feet. Melaleuca to the rescue! This oil should be in every first aid kit on the planet. Also, mosquitoes really don’t like Melaleuca!
Sleeping in a tent on the floor on an air bed is fun, but not the most comfortable thing in the world. Deep Blue will help soothe those sore muscles when you get up in the morning and you feel all stiff. This is also a great oil for hiking to help keep those muscles loose. After a long day of hiking and a hot shower at the campground, deep blue will help soothe those sore muscles. A must-have for your camping trip!
Don’t leave home without Lavender! Not only is this a soothing oil for skin irritations, itches, and mosquito bites it will also help you sleep at night. Going camping means noises at night you’re not used to and you hear everything. Put a drop of Lavender essential oil on the corner of your pillow before you go to bed. Curl up and enjoy a good night sleep. Lavender is also extremely soothing when you have been in the sun a little too long.
