The dictionary tells us that grief is a multifaceted response to loss, particularly to the loss of someone or something that has died, to which a bond or affection was formed. Although conventionally focused on the emotional response to loss, it also has physical, cognitive, behavioral, social, and philosophical dimensions. Those are a lot of fancy words to describe an emotion we all are forced to deal with in our lives.
Life tells us that grief simply means your heart is broken. Many things can cause someone to feel grief. The loss of loved one. The loss of a beloved pet. Loss of a job or lifelong dreams. Grief simply means you lost someone or something that cannot be replaced. It’s an emotion we all encounter in life, some more than others.
