Cooking with essential oils
Cooking with essential oils adds amazing flavors and benefits your food. This Cucumber French Salad with Marjoram essential oil is healthy, refreshing, and bursting with wholesome, delicious flavors. It’s so good we literally could eat it every day!
Avocados: Avocados are very nutritious and contain a wide variety of nutrients, including 20 different vitamins and minerals. Potassium is an important mineral that most people don’t get enough of. Avocados are very high in potassium, which should support healthy blood pressure levels.
Lemon: The acids found in lemon juice encourage your body to process the good stuff in foods more slowly. This drawn-out absorption means insulin levels remain steady and you get more nutrients out of the foods you consume. Better nutrient absorption means less bloating. Lemon water benefits the enzyme functions in your body, stimulating the liver and flushing out toxins. Because it’s a mild diuretic, you might find yourself using the bathroom more often, helping the urinary tract get rid of any unwanted elements. All of this helps detox body & skin.
Cucumber: Made up of mostly water and full of important electrolytes, cucumber is a perfect food to have on hand during the hot summer months to prevent dehydration. Adding cucumber to water is a great way to increase water consumption as well.
Tomatoes: The health benefits of tomatoes include improved eyesight, good stomach health, and reduced blood pressure, as well as relief from diabetes, skin problems, and urinary tract infections. Furthermore, tomatoes can increase digestion, stimulate blood circulation, reduce cholesterol levels, improve fluid balance, protect the kidneys, detoxify the body, prevent premature aging, and reduce inflammation or related conditions. Tomatoes consist of a large number of antioxidants that have been proven to fight different forms of cancer. It is a rich source of vitamins and minerals and exerts a protective effect against cardiovascular diseases.
- 1 whole avocado diced
- 1 tomato, diced
- 1/2 red onion, sliced
- 1/2 cucumber, diced
- 1 tbs olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbs lemon juice, fresh squeezed or Lemon essential oil
- 1 toothpick Marjoram essential oil
- 1 drop of Lime essential oil
- Add avocado and tomato to bowl.
- Add the red onion and the cucumber.
- Pour olive oil into a bowl.
- Mix in 1 toothpick of Marjoram essential oil and 1 drop of Lime essential oil.
- Add lemon juice or Lemon essential oil (5 drops)
- Finish it off with salt.
- Mix the ingredients and serve immediately. Tastes even better when eaten al fresco!
